Oral B Water Flosser Maintenance
How should you maintain your Oral-B irrigator?
Here is the maintenance procedure you should follow for your Oral-B irrigator:
Water reservoir/Tank
After each use, wipe it dry with a cloth and avoid leaving water inside to prevent mould and bacteria from forming. Once a week, clean the tank with soap and water, especially if you have used mouthwash, to remove any residue.
Water flosser and handle
It is advisable to clean the tank with a damp cloth to remove dust, followed by drying with a dry cloth. If the tank is removable, take the opportunity to also clean the cavity using this same procedure.
Other tips to keep your Oral-B dental irrigator in good condition
Below, we provide you with tips that you should follow at least once a month to clean the internal parts of the irrigator:
Tank cleaning
To clean the internal parts of the irrigator, it’s recommended to follow these steps at least once a month. Start by filling the water tank to the maximum level and adding 4 tablespoons of vinegar (or 2 tablespoons if the irrigator is cordless). Next, empty half of the tank by directing the stream into the sink. Let the vinegar mixture sit for 20 minutes, then repeat this process to ensure thorough cleaning. Afterward, refill the tank with water and empty it again to remove any remaining traces of vinegar. Alternatively, you can use baking soda instead of vinegar for this cleaning method. Regular maintenance like this helps keep your irrigator in good working condition and ensures optimal hygiene for your dental care routine
Heads and handle
To clean the internal parts, immerse in a container with water and white vinegar (4 tablespoons of vinegar per water) for 15 minutes. Then, wash with water and soap, and dry thoroughly before using again.
